Close to 100 vintage Mercedes-Benz came together for this years' exhibition in
Newport Beach. The event was produced by the Orange County Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America and was sponsored in part by Mercedes-Benz USA.
Several rare and unique examples of classic Mercedes-Benz automobiles have been
on display. The magnificent view of five of the 500 K and 540 K pre-war Mercedes-Benz in one
place might not be found anywhere else - not even at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
Other rare models have been a 1967 Mercedes-Benz 600 Landaulet (one of 11 produced), a 1951 prototype
of the 300 Cabriolet D with the serial number one and an extremely rare 1931 Maybach Zeppelin
(Mercedes-Benz owns the marque Maybach since the early sixties), which was the most prestigious
German automobile before the war, featuring a 12 cylinder engine.

The annual Fashion Island Mercedes-Benz Exhibition proved once more, that it is
among the premier Mercedes-Benz events in the United States; possibly worldwide.
And best of all - it is still a free exhibit - thanks to the enthusiasm of the
owners of the participating vehicles, who donated their time and expense to share
the beauty of their classics with the public.
